Celebración!
Sunday, March 20, 3pm: Paramount Hudson Valley Theatre, Peekskill

Music Dir Russell Ger and Orchestra 914 bring a celebration of Latin-American composers and their magnificent music. From Carlos Gardel’s irresistible Por Una Cabeza (made widely famous in A Scent of a Woman) to Ginastera’s toe-tapping Estancia; from a Brazilian tribute to Bach by Villa-Lobos to the Argentinian king of the tango, Piazzolla; and finally, to the roof raising energy of Mexican composer, Arturo Márquez. The dominant element that unites these composers is unbounded passion, expressed through intoxicating rhythm. This program may offer a new experience for many of our listeners who might not be familiar with this repertoire, but we guarantee it will make a convert of everyone!
